The compact and mobile 3D structured light scanner

Fast and highly accurate, the SmartScan optical 3D scanner is among the leading measurement solutions for complex surface geometries and fragile or deformable parts where portability is a necessity.

The non-contact structured light scanning technology of the SmartScan enables very fast data acquisition at a high level of detail. The scanner’s compact design and low weight allow for fully mobile usage, including within challenging workshop conditions. Even under the demands of temperature fluctuation, the scanner maintains extremely stable and reliable performance, based on its carbon-fibre structure.

With the StereoScan neo, Hexagon introduces the innovative Smart Phase Projection (SPP) technology, which employs a new fringe projection pattern to yield the highest quality data on even the most difficult surfaces.

The StereoScan also benefits from Variable Light Projection (VLP) technology. This adaptive full-colour projection technique, combining the strong illumination of three LEDs for faster scanning, enables not only projection onto the measurement object of the colour patterns necessary for the scanning process, but also projection of the generated measurement results.

This allows for the deviations from CAD to be visualised in full colour in the correct position on the surface of the scanned object immediately following measurement.

NextSense C14

Portable Measurement Devices Designed for Automotive Gap and Flush

Specified for automotive customer perceived quality demands, CALIPRI C14 non-contact portable measurement devices offer fast and accurate evaluation of gap, flush and radius.

Powered by the patented ‘CALIPRI Principle’, the devices use advanced laser light section technology with unique real-time tilt correction. The user scans the part profile by pivoting the device around the target, capturing a 2D contour from different perspectives – deep into the gap or
along the complete edge. The measured key dimensions are displayed on a tablet PC and/or on the sensor itself and can be compared with reference or design values. A colour-coded traffic light system is used to make deviations from tolerance limits easy to identify.

The CALIPRI C14 devices are widely used for quality assurance and metrology room measurements for automotive car body, including gap and flush inspection, seal gap measurements and other feeler gauge applications. CALIPRI technology also supports Meisterbock, cubing and prototype assembly and development, closure and hemming development, and audit functions in the body shop and final assembly lines.

Simple and precise optical 3D scanning

The PrimeScan optical 3D scanner line from Hexagon is an attractive entry-level solution for highly precise 3D digitisation of industrial components. Like other Hexagon structured light scanner models, the PrimeScan is based on fringe projection technology that provides the strongest luminous power and highest projection quality.

PrimeScan 3D scanning applicationThe area scanner boasts an extremely compact design, with the base area of the unit the size of an A4 sheet of paper, while it weighs less than four kilograms. This
condensed layout is combined with a short working distance, making the PrimeScan the ideal device for easy and uncomplicated scanning in special application areas, such as on a desktop or in a narrow and difficult to access part of an industrial environment. The rigid design of PrimeScan also makes it suitable for use on robots.
